As part of our International Women’s Week celebrations, we caught up with Eloise Leppkes, Product Manager at NETSOL Europe, to find out what inspired her to pursue a career in technology and what advice she gives to women and girls who want to follow a similar path.
What sparked your initial interest in technology?
I was working in a Customer Services role that I enjoyed, but I had a strong desire for something more challenging. When I was invited to assist with a project as a subject matter expert, we were tasked with implementing a complete end-to-end system for the business. That's when I truly discovered my passion for the Business Analyst role. I loved digging into the inner workings of systems and coming up with ideas to make processes run more smoothly. Even tackling requirement documentation that stretched into hundreds of pages didn’t intimidate me—though I was very grateful when Agile training came along!
Key Turning Points:
What are the most pivotal moments or decisions that shaped your career?
Relocating to Germany and working at RCI Banque in Neuss. This provided me with international experience, training on Agile methodologies, and exposure to the European market standards for automotive finance. This proved invaluable later in my career, working with some of the biggest car manufacturers in Europe.
Were there any mentors or influential figures who guided you?
I have been fortunate to work alongside many exceptional women across all levels of the organisations I’ve been part of. Observing and learning from their expertise has been incredibly inspiring and instrumental in my professional growth.
Current Focus:
What are you most passionate about in your work right now?
The world of technology is constantly evolving, and I genuinely love being a part of it. Right now, I'm all about putting our core European strategy into action, ensuring we keep innovation and excellence at the forefront of everything we do. I feel lucky to work alongside such amazing teams who are empowered to move our products forward, and I’m genuinely excited to be on this journey.
Skills and Learning:
What skills from your experience have been most valuable in your career?
Cultivating a continuous learning mindset has been a cornerstone of my journey. Earning my International Diploma in Business Analysis provided a solid foundation, but the hands-on experience gained while collaborating with businesses across Europe has been invaluable. Each country I’ve worked in boasts its unique cultural and regulatory landscape, which has taught me the importance of actively listening, adapting, and steering clear of assumptions.
Advice for Others:
What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in technology?
Developing a strong professional network and finding mentors is essential for growth. It's important to tackle challenges with resilience and stay flexible when facing obstacles. Connecting with communities that uplift women in tech can be incredibly beneficial, offering valuable resources and support.
